FAQs

What is Mindful Mamas?

Mindful Mamas is a four-session group program that companies can purchase to provide their mom employees with support as they navigate the challenges of being a working mom in uncertain times. Sessions are designed to help moms cultivate self-love and emotional awareness while also finding support and connection with other moms within their company.

Where did the concepts covered during Mindful Mamas come from?

The materials and concepts used for many of the exercises in the program come from The Motherhood Center of New York. The Motherhood Center specializes in providing support and clinical treatment to new and expecting mothers experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).

How do I join a sign my company up for the program?

Send us an email we’ll work with you directly to organize the program for your company.

What can I expect if I sign my company up for the program?

We will work together to determine how many participants from your company will be joining the program. The Mindful Mamas team will organize interested participants into cohorts and schedule all sessions. A shared slack channel between your organization and Mindful Mamas will be created for each cohort. Each cohort will meet over zoom for one hour each week for four weeks. The session opens with a meditation which is followed by group check-ins, skills implementation, activities, and closing. Each week the moms are challenged to implement the learnings outside of the group and to hold themselves accountable. Each cohort’s private Slack channel will allow that cohort to stay connected with the other moms in their group and it will serve as a hub for exploring resources and program content which is updated daily throughout the four weeks.

What is the commitment level once a mom joins a cohort?

If a mom signs up for a cohort, we do ask that she does her best to show up to all four sessions as consistency of the group is a key element to creating a powerful support system. If something does come up, no worries, life happens!

How much does the program cost?

For program costs, please reach out to Maggie via email or phone to learn more.

Is Mindful Mamas therapy?

No. Mindful Mamas is a peer support group which focuses on building community and shared connection. Each session will focus on concepts to keep in mind for managing anxiety and difficult emotions but it is not therapy and shouldn’t be considered a mental health service.

Is Maggie a licensed mental health professional?

No. Maggie is a mom who is passionate about sharing some of the core concepts she learned while in therapy and during recovery from an anxiety disorder. She is not a mental health professional and is focused mainly on providing peer support and space for self-reflection and connection for moms. If a mom in the group is struggling with anxiety or depression she should speak to a mental health professional. The Motherhood Center of New York is a great resource for this.
